La Cité Collégiale offers Diploma in Techniques d'intervention en criminologie, a diploma in Social Sciences & Education programme in Ottawa, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 6,539 per semester (CAD 1,385 per semester for local students).
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic entry — Ontario, Quebec or New Brunswick: the provincial secondary-school diploma or an equivalent, or pass the mature-applicant test if you are 19 or over. International applicants must hold a secondary-school diploma or baccalaureate, or be in their final secondary year with proof of enrolment; La Cité states that admission is competitive because places are limited and is never guaranteed. Good English is desirable because of the workplace placements. An unpardoned criminal record, or fragile health or physical condition, can reduce the chance of obtaining a placement and a job in the field, and a criminal record check must be obtained in the six months before placements begin. Before enrolling in stage 4: an up-to-date immunisation record, a criminal record check from your local police service, and a standard first aid certificate covering children and adults with CPR. The certificates must stay valid throughout the practical placement and up to graduation.
