Overview
Version entièrement en ligne du diplôme en éducation en services à l'enfance, ce programme de deux ans à temps complet (21 cours, à compléter en quatre ans maximum à temps partiel) prépare à une carrière d'éducatrice ou d'éducateur auprès d'enfants de 0 à 12 ans. La formation couvre les étapes du développement de l'enfant, l'intervention, la programmation d'activités éducatives et les soins adaptés, et comprend trois stages obligatoires en milieu de la petite enfance. Le diplôme respecte les normes provinciales de l'Ontario et est reconnu par l'Ordre des éducatrices et des éducateurs de la petite enfance (OEPE).

Admission Requirements: La Cité notes that a criminal record for which no pardon has been sought or obtained reduces the chance of securing a practicum placement or later employment in the field. Before the practicum terms (steps 2 to 4), students need an up-to-date immunisation record, a police criminal-record check or proof of pardon, a Red Cross or St. John Ambulance general first-aid certificate, and a Level-C CPR certificate, both kept valid throughout the programme. Domestic Ontario applicants need the OSSD or equivalent, or, at 19 or over, a pass on La Cité's mature-applicant test; Quebec and New Brunswick applicants need their own provincial secondary diploma on the same mature-applicant basis. No language test score is published; French is the language of instruction, and the programme is delivered fully online.
