La Cité Collégiale offers Diploma in Techniques de travail social, a diploma in Social Sciences & Education programme in Ottawa, Canada. The programme runs for 2 years, delivered on campus. Teaching is in English. Tuition for international students is CAD 6,539 per semester (CAD 1,385 per semester for local students).
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Domestic entry — Ontario, Quebec or New Brunswick: the provincial secondary-school diploma or an equivalent, or a satisfactory skills assessment in reading comprehension. International applicants must hold a secondary-school diploma or baccalaureate, or be in their final secondary year with proof of enrolment; La Cité states that admission is competitive because places are limited and is never guaranteed. Good French and English, spoken and written, are desirable because of workplace placements and case-note writing, and group work needs several hours of meetings outside class. Before the stage-2 placement: a criminal record check obtained in the six months before each of the two practical placements — an unpardoned record can block a placement or a job in the social field; a Red Cross or St John Ambulance standard first aid certificate; and a level-C CPR certificate, both kept valid for the whole programme. Some placement sites also require proof of immunisation, validated at stage 3 either through La Cité's process or your own clinic.
