Trades - Apprenticeship in Steamfitter-Pipefitter

This apprenticeship trains steamfitter-pipefitters to assemble, maintain and repair piping systems that carry water, steam and chemicals used in processes such as heating, cooling and lubricating; work is performed both indoors and outdoors and can involve climbing. It is a four-year apprenticeship with an annual structure of 8 weeks of classroom instruction and a minimum of 1,560 hours of on-the-job training per period. Instruction is delivered face-to-face at the Vermilion campus, with hands-on training in the college's Trades Centre. Applicants must secure employment with an employer or sponsor who is a journeyperson, or who employs a journeyperson, in the steamfitter-pipefitter trade before beginning technical training.
