Trades - Apprenticeship in Apprenticeship Steamfitter-Pipefitter

Apprenticeship Steamfitter-Pipefitter is a Red Seal trades program delivered through Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT), open to students registered as AIT apprentices. The program teaches students to measure, lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems that carry water, steam, and other fluids, along with blueprint reading, fabrication drawing, support manufacturing, and welding practices used in the trade. Period 1 is shared with related pipe trades, including plumbing, gasfitting, and sprinkler installation, before apprentices specialize in later periods. Training runs across four technical periods in a hybrid delivery format, with each period requiring successful completion of the prior one before progression. Each period carries a combined tuition and fee cost of $1,213.49, covering tuition, student association fees, a recreation fee, materials/shop fees, and an application fee. Periods begin on a staggered schedule, with new periods starting in October and January.
