Trades - Apprenticeship in Bricklayer

This three-year Red Seal Endorsed apprenticeship, delivered in person at SAIT's Main Campus through the School of Construction, trains apprentices to prepare and lay brick and other masonry units to build and repair structures. Coursework covers material preparation, tool use, blueprint reading, and work with masonry materials including brick, concrete block, stone, and refractory systems. Classroom instruction runs in eight-week blocks each year, totalling 24 weeks across the three 12-month periods, alongside a minimum of 1,600 hours of on-the-job training per period. Graduates earn journeyperson status and a diploma through Alberta's Apprenticeship and Industry Training. The program does not accept international applicants; apprentices must be Alberta residents (or primarily work in the province) and hold Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, refugee status, or a valid CUAET visa.
