Program details

Overview

This intensive one-year full-time certificate trains modern producers and composers for work in recording, film, television, gaming, advertising and multimedia, serving both artists who write, record and produce their own material and those producing or scoring for others. Classes run five nights a week, Monday to Friday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, across three 14-week terms with breaks between them, in cohorts capped at 16 students, beginning each September. Teaching takes place at Langara's 100 West 49th Avenue site in Vancouver plus sessions in professional recording studios. Students build their own mobile production studio and work with industry-standard software including Ableton Live, covering home studio production, professional studio technique, composition and scoring, recording and mixing.
