Cert in Early Childhood Education: Special Education Citation

Admission Requirements: Admission to the Early Childhood Education: Special Education Post Basic Citation requires 20 hours of volunteer work at a licensed childcare program, preschool or other early-years setting serving children under six, plus two reference letters dated within two years of application, one of which must come from the organization where the volunteer hours were completed. Applicants must complete an eight-hour Emergency Child Care First Aid course that includes CPR with children and infants, renewable every three years, and a criminal record review that must be completed before the first day of classes; Langara accepts no other criminal record check. The program's own page does not state a minimum GPA, prior academic credential or English-language test score; applicants should confirm current BC Early Childhood Educator registration requirements directly with the Ministry. Admission to the program does not guarantee registration in every required course.
