Overview
The Diploma in Digital Media Design is an employment-focused, multidisciplinary program that bridges the gaps between technological skills and foundational professional skills.
Students gain the digital fluency and creativity needed to thrive in web, UI, and UX design positions. Design and technology focused courses build the skills to create visual narratives, develop compelling digital content, work effectively with code, and apply generative artificial intelligence tools in their work. The program features curriculum that developes students' essential skills as well as technological proficiency, enabling them to pursue further studies or eolve with new global economy.

Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Digital Media & Design Diploma requires BC Grade 12 graduation (or equivalent) for domestic applicants, or 19 years of age or older as an alternative; international applicants need BC Grade 12 graduation or its equivalent. No prior coding or design experience is required. English proficiency is assessed under Langara's Category 2 standard: English 12 at 70%, IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band under 6.0, Duolingo English Test 110, TOEFL iBT 88 (Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking each at 20), CAEL 70 with no band under 60, or PTE Academic 56 with no skill below 55. The diploma has limited enrolment, and admission to a program at Langara does not guarantee registration in required courses; students admitted may need additional English coursework to satisfy prerequisites for required program English classes.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through EducationPlannerBC: for the 2027 entry cycle, applications open 1 February 2026 for Spring (January) entry, 1 June 2026 for Summer (May) entry and 1 October 2026 for Fall (September) entry, then stay open with no fixed closing date until each programme fills or classes begin. International applicants use the same EducationPlannerBC portal but face fixed closing dates: 30 September 2026 for Spring 2027, 31 January 2027 for Summer 2027 and 31 May 2027 for Fall 2027. A short list of limited-enrolment programmes - Nursing, Advanced Entry BSN, Nursing Practice in Canada, Applied Science for Engineering and the Post-Degree Diploma in Data Analytics - set their own, earlier deadlines that apply to both applicant types.
