The Diploma in Artificial Intelligence Application Design and Development (Designer pathway) is a two-year, 60-credit program within Langara College's Artificial Intelligence Applications Program (AIAP). It combines foundation courses in communications and design thinking with existing Digital Media and Design coursework, then builds specialized skills in UX/UI design, visual storytelling, motion graphics, and front-end coding for designers. In later terms, designer- and developer-pathway students collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects, culminating in an AIAP capstone project, to design, prototype, and build functional digital products. The curriculum emphasizes applied, hands-on learning aligned with current industry practice and the growing role of artificial intelligence in digital design, and graduates leave with a portfolio of cross-disciplinary project work. The program is delivered in person, non-cohort, on a full-time or part-time basis, and the diploma is eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit for international students.
