Overview
Sport Psychology at Laurentian University is a Bachelor of Arts program described by the university as the only one of its kind in Canada, combining foundations in Psychology and Human Kinetics into a multi-disciplinary understanding of athletic and mental preparation. Coursework covers psychological principles as they apply to athletic performance, injury and rehabilitation, communication, team building, and career transitions, preparing students to work directly with athletes, coaches, and parents on these topics. The degree requires 120 credits and is normally completed in four years. It can also be taken alongside the Concurrent Bachelor of Education program, which adds a fifth year of study leading to teacher certification alongside the Sport Psychology credential. The program is delivered on campus. Additional admission pathways exist for international students, out-of-province Canadian applicants, college and university transfer students, and mature students.
