This PhD, offered by the Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Arts, is a research-intensive program building skills in critical thinking, data collection, and scientific communication. Students may pursue a Gender and Women's Studies option, with a dissertation engaging issues of gender, women, or feminism, or a Population Dynamics option covering demographic methods, including life-table analysis, and key population issues.
