Overview
The Honours BSc in Applied Mathematics, offered through the Faculty of Science, covers core branches of mathematics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, statistics and probability, along with analysis, functions, dynamics, chaos and number theory. The program examines how mathematics functions across the sciences and the arts, allowing students to combine mathematical study with another field. Coursework includes calculus, algebra, analysis and mathematical finance. Students can pair the major with minors in mathematics, economics, computer science, chemistry or biology, or combine it with related majors including biology and mathematics, physiology and mathematics, or mathematics and computer science. Graduates pursue careers such as mathematician, economist, actuary, climatologist, bioinformatician and policy analyst, or continue to graduate study.
