The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Educational Psychology (Thesis) is offered by the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology in the Faculty of Education. It is a research-intensive program with three options: Health Professions Education, focused on teaching and learning in health professions and offered jointly with the Institute of Health Sciences Education; Human Development, covering cognitive, language, social, personality and gender development in children and adolescents across diverse contexts; and Learning Sciences, covering cognition, self-regulation and motivation, technology-rich learning environments, and the social and cultural foundations of learning. Students conduct original research culminating in a thesis, developing skills in literature synthesis and academic writing. Admission requires an eligible bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA (out of 4.0) and English-language proficiency. The program admits students in the Fall term.
