Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Surgical Innovation is offered by the Department of Surgical and Interventional Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences at McGill University. The course-based program introduces students to the process of innovation in surgical and biomedical contexts. In the first semester, students focus on team building and, supported by lectures, carry out a needs-finding process by observing clinical activity within their chosen focus themes. Subsequent coursework covers basic prototyping skills, start-up organization, and project management, supplemented by an introductory statistics course and an introduction to the current state of biomedical research innovation. The program provides a foundation in the innovation process for healthcare-related ventures. The program admits students in the Fall term.

Minimum GPA: 3.00 / 4.0

Admission Requirements: Applicants need an eligible bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and evidence of English-language proficiency.
