Conservation Biology is a two-year diploma program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology providing a foundation in environmental science, resource management and ecosystem conservation. Students gain expertise in biology, botany, zoology, genetics and chemistry while developing technical skills in laboratory techniques and fieldwork, alongside ethics, communication and critical-thinking skills. The curriculum covers scientific methods for sustaining natural resources and preserving ecosystem balance. Graduates are prepared for roles as technologists or consultants in wildlife management, conservation planning and environmental consulting, working for government agencies, non-profits or private industry. The program is delivered on NAIT's main campus with a Fall intake, and a hybrid delivery mode was in effect for the 2026 intake. Students need access to a Windows laptop meeting program specifications and must provide Tetanus and Diphtheria immunization records.
