Electrical Engineering Technology is a two-year diploma program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, delivered on campus in Edmonton, that provides a nationally accredited and internationally recognized study of electrical principles and practices. The curriculum covers power systems operation and protection, maintenance and commissioning, electrical machines, industrial and commercial design, power electronics, and programmable logic controllers. Students develop skills in designing and implementing power systems and equipment to applicable standards and in developing and programming automation equipment. The program builds professionalism, adaptability, and technical competence alongside its electrical coursework. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles across several disciplines within the electrical industry. The program admits students in both the Fall and Winter terms. It suits students seeking a broad, accredited technologist credential in electrical engineering rather than a trades-focused electrical program.
