IT Systems Management and Security is a two-year diploma program for students interested in IT infrastructure and supporting secure, reliable access to computers, servers, networks and cloud platforms. Coursework covers exploring, designing, implementing and managing core information and communication technologies, including Windows and Linux network operating systems, local area network and wide area network resources, on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, IT service delivery and IT security best practices that support reliable business operations. A mandatory field experience placement, typically about five weeks and unpaid, provides workplace exposure, and a co-op work term of at least 12 weeks (420 hours) is available between the first and second year. Applicants may qualify for the Digital Nova Scotia TechQuity Award through the Community Foundation of Nova Scotia. International graduates are eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit.
