Overview
This specialization within the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Educational Psychology examines how people learn and how technology can enhance educational experiences, applying psychological and social theories to facilitate learning and teaching, with or without technology, across formal and informal settings and all stages of life. Coursework combines the interconnected areas of cognition, emotion, learning and instruction, with an emphasis on real-world inquiry and problem-based learning, equipping students with job-ready skills in training and instruction using digital tools. The four-year Honours Bachelor of Arts is delivered in-class at the Downtown Oshawa campus with a September start, and includes experiential learning components such as work terms, internships, practicum placements and an undergraduate thesis or research study.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Current Ontario secondary school applicants must complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six 4U or 4M credits, including English (ENG4U). Admission is competitive and the required average varies from year to year, based on school marks, distribution of subjects and performance in subjects relevant to the program; meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance, and preference is given to applicants with the strongest qualifications.
