Overview
The Primary Care Paramedic Certificate is a one-year, on-campus program at Prairie College delivered in partnership with Professional Medical Associates. Students complete 15 credits of Bible coursework alongside the First Medical Responder (FMR) course and the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) course. Enrolment is limited to sixteen students per year. Graduates are eligible to complete the provincial registry examination process and apply for registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics, after which they can work as a Primary Care Paramedic or continue training toward Advanced Care Paramedic certification. Post-acceptance requirements include a minimum age of 18 by January of the enrolment year, a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search, current immunization records, a valid driver's license, medical clearance confirming fitness for the physical demands of the role, and an Alberta Student Number.

Admission Requirements: Applicants need a minimum average of 60% in five Grade 12 courses, including a minimum of 60% in English 30-1 or 30-2. Applicants must also demonstrate Christian life and testimony through a personal testimony, spiritual reference, and declaration for admission, and non-native English speakers must show proof of English language proficiency.
