Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPEC) is an interdisciplinary undergraduate specialization at Queen's University combining the three named disciplines, jointly administered across the Department of Political Studies, the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Economics. The plan is structured as an augmented medial: students complete 42.0 core and option units in one chosen sub-plan (Politics, Philosophy or Economics) plus 21.0 units in each of the other two disciplines, with additional electives bringing the total to 120.0 units, leading to a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree. The structure is intended to build advanced skills in a student's chosen area of specialization while maintaining grounding across all three disciplines. Graduates are prepared to enter graduate studies in their specialization or to pursue careers that call for strong analytical and communication skills, including law, public service, international development, and policy design and analysis.
