The Master of Public Health at Queen's University is a professional, course-based graduate degree focused on evidence-informed public health practice. The program is delivered as a blend of in-person courses, online coursework, and a 400-hour practicum placement with a host organization, and is completed over 16 months beginning in September. Students take core courses in epidemiology, biostatistics, health systems, health policy, and program evaluation, along with elective courses, before completing the required practicum in the third (summer) term. An optional embedded Specialization in Infection Prevention and Control is available, requiring three IPAC elective courses and an IPAC-focused practicum. An Accelerated MPH stream, completed in 12 consecutive months, is available to applicants with at least two years of full-time paid experience in health care, public health, or a related field. The degree does not include a thesis or capstone project; assessment is course-based across two academic terms and a practicum term. Graduates pursue careers as health planners, research analysts, health promoters, evaluators, and project managers within health units, government agencies, hospitals, and community and research organizations.
