Cabinetry and Woodworking is a 38-week, hands-on certificate that prepares students for entry-level work in the cabinet-making industry. The curriculum covers shop safety, blueprint reading, shop drawings, trade calculations, material estimation and selection, and machinery operation, building toward the fabrication of woodworking projects. Training progresses across three terms, moving from independent shop work in term one, through group projects with field experience in term two, to team-based, larger-scale projects in term three, including three weeks of work-integrated learning in industry. The program is delivered full-time at the Notre Dame Campus in Winnipeg, with a September intake. It suits individuals seeking practical, shop-based training for entry into cabinet making or related woodworking trades, rather than a broader furniture-design or fine-woodworking specialization.
