This five-month certificate program develops fundamental insurance and business skills for entry-level positions across the property and casualty insurance industry's three primary career streams: brokerage, claims adjusting, and underwriting. Delivered full-time in Winnipeg with a September intake, the curriculum builds the client interaction, documentation, and technical knowledge needed to work in general insurance roles, drawing on Insurance Institute coursework and materials. Coursework covers topics such as policy documentation, claims handling processes, and underwriting principles for property and casualty insurance products, combining classroom instruction with practice-based exercises modelled on real insurance scenarios. Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as insurance generalists in brokerages, claims adjusting firms, and underwriting departments within Manitoba's insurance industry.
