Applicants who completed three years of full-time secondary education in Canada, the US, or an ELR-exempt country in English pass an Academic Communication Assessment; others must submit one of RRC Polytech's approved diploma-level assessments: IELTS Academic (overall 6.0, no band below 5.5), CAEL (overall band 60), PTE (overall 54, minimum 50 per skill), Duolingo (115 or above, minimum 95 per section), or TOEFL iBT (4.0 overall, minimum 3.5 per component). A Criminal Record Check and Provincial Child Abuse Registry Check are required before the practicum; a criminal record or a listing on the Child Abuse Registry can prevent program completion. Applicants may also qualify via two years of University of Winnipeg Developmental Studies, or via the Louis Riel or Seven Oaks high school ECE programs with a minimum 65% average.
