Social Innovation and Community Development is a two-year diploma for students aiming to create change in urban, rural, local, or global communities, with an optional one-year certificate exit point. The program features a common first year of foundational studies, followed by a specializing second year in either Community Development or Indigenous Social Entrepreneurship. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires proof of graduation from, or current enrolment in, Grade 12 with one credit in each of Grade 12 English (40S) and Math (40S). Mature applicants aged 19 or older who have been out of high school for at least one year may qualify without high school graduation, provided they have completed or are enrolled in the same English and Math courses. Applicants who completed at least three years of full-time secondary education in Canada, the United States, or another English Language Requirement (ELR) exempt country where English was the language of instruction meet the English requirement directly; others must meet an approved English language assessment option. A Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check may be required for practicum placements. Required documentation must be submitted within 15 days of applying, or within 5 days if applying within six weeks of the program start date.
