Overview
An 18-credit graduate diploma for professionals who work in an international setting or have a global focus in their work, aimed at those who want to lead on sustainability and social change. It builds on the coursework of the Graduate Certificate in Global Leadership, going deeper into systems thinking and expanding capacity for cross-cultural communication, and adds elective options that widen the scope. Students examine what it means to be a global leader and how to adapt as global conditions shift, developing personal resilience alongside leadership capability for roles in government, international NGOs, social enterprises, community organizations, private companies, higher education or the military. Royal Roads offers the diploma entirely online, on campus, or as a blend of online courses with a short on-campus residency, and its credits can be applied toward the two-year MA in Global Leadership.

Minimum GPA:3.00 / 4.33
Admission Requirements: Standard admission requires a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum GPA of 'B' (3.00/4.33), at least three years of general leadership experience, and demonstrated cross-cultural experience gained through travel or work; applicants away from academic writing for ten or more years normally complete Academic Writing and Critical Thinking first. Flexible admission is open to applicants with at least ten years of professional experience, including three years of leadership experience, and the same cross-cultural requirement. The programme page defers to Royal Roads University's institution-wide English language requirement for applicants whose first language is not English or who were not educated in English: for third-year-entry and graduate programs, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading, or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with a minimum 24 in writing and 20 in listening, reading and speaking. Applicants also submit a personal statement, a detailed résumé, official transcripts and reference letters.

Application Deadline:Royal Roads University sets no single university-wide deadline: domestic and international applicants apply directly to the university through the same process, and every programme page checked shows one identical deadline for both. RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
