Program details
Overview
A six-month blended graduate certificate for business leaders, consultants, analysts, managers and practitioners who need to examine how and why their organization does what it does. Students study theoretical and practical approaches to organization design and strategic change management, and learn to analyze, evaluate and make decisions about organizational culture, change interventions and strategy. Topics span organization design, development and strategy; organizational change processes; systems and culture transformation; capacity building, measurement and evaluation; and stakeholder engagement, social intelligence and relationship building. The learning is applied through a hands-on organization design project. It suits both people planning a new organization and those steering an existing one in a new direction, and it can be completed as a specialization within the MBA in Executive Management or the Master of Global Management.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Standard admission requires completion of a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, normally with at least three years of relevant full-time work experience in leadership, management or organization development roles. Flexible admission applies to applicants with at least five years of extensive relevant work experience and some post-secondary education. The programme page defers to Royal Roads University's institution-wide English language requirement for applicants whose first language is not English or who were not educated in English: for third-year-entry and graduate programs, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading, or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with a minimum 24 in writing and 20 in listening, reading and speaking. Applicants also submit a one-page personal statement, a detailed résumé and two reference letters; transcript requirements are set as a condition of admission.
Application Details
Start Date:September
Application Deadline:Royal Roads University sets no single university-wide deadline: domestic and international applicants apply directly to the university through the same process, and every programme page checked shows one identical deadline for both. RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
