Overview
A five-month certificate for people already leading in global or multicultural settings who want to become more globally minded, self-aware and responsible in the role. Students examine global systems and the socio-political and economic forces driving them, reflect on their own values and perspectives, and lead team work alongside classmates based around the world. Study is designed to fit around a working life, combining coursework with a short residency on campus so that what is learned applies directly to a current or intended leadership post. Graduates build cross-cultural skill, systems thinking, personal awareness and adaptability. The certificate can be taken on its own or its credits applied toward the Graduate Diploma in Global Leadership or the MA in Global Leadership.

Minimum GPA:3.00 / 4.33
Admission Requirements: Standard admission requires a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum GPA of 'B' (3.00/4.33), at least three years of general leadership experience, and significant cross-cultural experience gained through travel or work; applicants away from academic writing for ten or more years normally complete Academic Writing and Critical Thinking first. Flexible admission is open to applicants with at least ten years of professional experience, including three years of leadership experience, and the same cross-cultural requirement. The programme page defers to Royal Roads University's institution-wide English language requirement for applicants whose first language is not English or who were not educated in English: for third-year-entry and graduate programs, IELTS Academic 6.5 overall with a minimum 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in listening and reading, or TOEFL iBT 88 overall with a minimum 24 in writing and 20 in listening, reading and speaking. Applicants also submit a personal statement, a detailed résumé, official transcripts and reference letters.

Application Deadline:Royal Roads University sets no single university-wide deadline: domestic and international applicants apply directly to the university through the same process, and every programme page checked shows one identical deadline for both. RRU consistently closes a programme's application exactly three calendar months before that programme's own intake start date — a September 2027 intake typically closes 7 June 2027 — though a few programmes (the Master of Global Management, for example) use a six-month lead instead. Each programme lists its own upcoming intakes, running from 2026 into 2028 depending on the programme, and RRU says it may still accept a late application if space and processing time remain, but it publishes no separate international deadline and no institution-wide equal-consideration or rolling policy. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
