Mechanical Engineering Technology is a two-year, 76-week diploma from Saskatchewan Polytechnic offered at the Saskatoon campus with an August intake. The program bridges engineering and technical fields, combining science and engineering theory with hands-on, practical application across three focus areas: mechanical design and development (CAD and FEA software, materials, manufacturing and fabrication processes), energy systems (power generation, industrial processes, fluid power and hydraulics, piping networks, and ventilation and air-conditioning, including green building design), and instrumentation and controls (sensors and instrumentation for mechanical and thermal-fluid systems). The program prepares graduates to contribute effectively from the start of their careers, with a foundation supporting progression into design, analysis, and policy or process-improvement roles across a broad range of industries. Admission follows Saskatchewan Polytechnic's First Qualified/First Admitted process, with applications opening September 1 each year.
