Overview
This post-graduate certificate program builds on prior undergraduate study to develop specialized skills in cyber security operations, penetration testing, information security investigation and forensics, web security, and security consultation, analysis, and administration. Coursework focuses on identifying network and computer system vulnerabilities, conducting ethical hacking exercises to assess organizational risk, and designing cyber security plans. The program runs 41 weeks full-time on campus, with intakes in January and September; delivery is based at the Saskatoon campus, as the Regina offering is currently suspended. It is intended for students who already hold a bachelor's degree and have prior networking training, building specialized security expertise onto that existing technical foundation rather than teaching networking fundamentals from scratch. Graduates are prepared for roles in cyber security operations, penetration testing, digital forensics, web security, security consulting, security analysis, and security administration, working to protect organizational systems and data from information security risks.

The programme applies Saskatchewan Polytechnic's institution-wide English Language Requirement: IELTS Academic overall 6.5 with 5.0 per band, TOEFL iBT 81 overall with 19 per skill, PTE Academic 63 overall with 50 per component, Duolingo English Test 110, or CAEL 60 overall with 50 per component. A Criminal Record Check and bondability may be required to meet future employer expectations, and students must supply their own Windows laptop meeting minimum hardware specifications. Admission is First Qualified/First Admitted, with applications opening September 1 for the January (Regina and Saskatoon) or September (Saskatoon only) intake.

A small group of Competitive programs (including the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology and Practical Nursing) instead uses fixed dates for the September 2027 intake: applications open 1 October 2026, close 15 February 2027 for domestic and 31 December 2026 for international applicants, with supporting documents due 15 March 2027 (domestic) or 31 January 2027 (international) and offer letters typically issued in early April 2027. Admission for the FQFA programs is effectively rolling; the Competitive programs are not. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
