Overview
The Entry to Pharmacy Associate of Science Degree is a two-year, four-term programme that prepares students for admission to Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy programmes, including at the University of British Columbia and the University of Alberta. Coursework covers foundational sciences such as biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology, alongside mathematics and English requirements. The programme is delivered on campus at the Castlegar campus, with Fall, Winter and Spring intakes. Students complete all prerequisite courses required for entry into a pharmacy degree at partner universities and must maintain an overall GPA of 2.00 to graduate. Applicants planning to transfer to UBC should also meet that institution's core-course and overall average requirements. Graduates who complete the associate degree are positioned to continue directly into professional pharmacy training.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants need a minimum 67% in Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12, a minimum 60% in English 12 or English 12 First Peoples, and Biology 12 and Chemistry 11 each with a minimum of 67%. Students whose first language is not English must meet the college's English language proficiency requirement; those who do not may write the Language Proficiency Index (LPI) test and achieve a minimum of level 4 to attain equivalency.
