Marketing is a concentration within the Beedie School of Business's Bachelor of Business Administration that takes an analytical approach to marketing management, consumer behaviour, and market research and analysis. The concentration trains students to act as problem solvers who represent their organization to customers while bringing customer insight back into the business, covering topics such as branding, market analysis, consumer psychology, and digital marketing channels. Coursework combines quantitative research methods with case-based study of how organizations position products, price them, and communicate with target audiences. Marketing is one of nine BBA concentrations available after admission to the program, and students typically pair required core business courses with a sequence of marketing electives to complete it. Graduates pursue careers in brand management, market research, digital marketing, sales, and related business roles across a range of industries, drawing on both analytical and communication skills developed through the concentration's coursework.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Students enter the Marketing concentration through admission to the Beedie School of Business's Bachelor of Business Administration program. Direct-entry applicants need at least five approved Grade 12 courses, including English Studies 12 or English First Peoples 12 (minimum 70%) and Pre-Calculus 12, plus two further approved courses, and must submit a supplemental application; students then choose their concentration, including Marketing, after admission.
