The Mechatronic Systems Engineering and Business Double Degree combines the Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronic Systems Engineering with the Bachelor of Business Administration, recognizing the synergies between engineering and business education. It is a five-year, co-operative-education-based program requiring students to qualify for admission to both the Beedie School of Business and the mechatronic systems engineering major in the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Students complete a minimum of three mandatory engineering co-op work terms and may add up to two further business co-op terms. To progress into 300- and 400-division business courses, and to graduate, students must maintain a minimum 2.30 SFU Business course grade point average, alongside a minimum C- grade in every course counted toward the mechatronic systems engineering requirements. Courses are offered at the Burnaby and Surrey campuses, including some evening and online sections. Graduates hold two separate degrees and are prepared for combined engineering and business leadership roles.
