Overview

This certificate builds transferable competencies such as creativity paired with adaptability, teamwork and collaboration skills, and communication alongside implementation ability. These competencies are meant to prepare students for an employment landscape that keeps changing rapidly and continuously.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: This is a complementary certificate open only to students already admitted to an SFU undergraduate degree through the Beedie School of Business; there is no separate standalone admission process beyond current SFU enrolment. Students must maintain the Beedie School's standard undergraduate business-course grade point average of 2.30 to enter the 300- and 400-division business courses required for the certificate, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 across all courses counted toward the certificate is required to graduate with it. Course-level prerequisites apply throughout: entry to the required core needs a grade of C- or better in BUS 238 or BUS 240 plus 45 completed units, and the capstone course BUS 477 needs BUS 338 and an upper-division writing course, each at C- or better, plus 60 units. No English-language test score, portfolio, interview or other non-academic condition is published; admission is governed entirely by the applicant's standing in their primary SFU degree and by these course- and GPA-based declaration rules.
