Interactive Arts and Technology: Master of Arts (MA)

Admission Requirements: The Interactive Arts and Technology MA requires an undergraduate degree in a field related to the proposed program of study, such as computer science, engineering, education, management, economics, communications, fine arts, design, performing arts, art history, architecture, linguistics, psychology or philosophy, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at a Canadian university or equivalent; applicants from unrelated disciplines may still qualify if they can demonstrate a connection to the program. Two reference letters from suitably qualified persons are required, and selected candidates may be asked for a work portfolio and a personal or telephone interview later in the process; thesis versus project placement follows the letter of intent and the Graduate Admissions Committee's recommendation. SFU's general English proficiency standard applies since SIAT's own pages do not publish program-specific scores: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (6.0 per band) or TOEFL iBT 90 overall (20 per section).
