Overview

The Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship at St. Lawrence College delivers the in-school training component of the Ontario apprenticeship program for the industrial electrician trade. Training is organized into four levels using a day-release delivery format, with apprentices attending in-person classroom instruction at the Kingston campus between periods of paid, on-the-job work with a sponsoring employer. Apprentices are employed and earning wages throughout the program while completing both the in-school and on-the-job training requirements, a process that usually takes four to five years in total. On finishing all four levels and the required on-the-job hours, apprentices become eligible to write the Certificate of Qualification exam and receive an Ontario Certificate as a qualified Journeyperson Industrial Electrician. Entry requires sponsorship by an employer and registration with Ontario's Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development before beginning the in-school levels.

Requirements
