Overview
This program awards a Master of Divinity with a Concentration in Youth and Family Ministry, training students for vocational youth ministry within church and parachurch settings. The degree comprises 27 courses over three years and combines core Master of Divinity theological studies with courses specific to the concentration, including Foundations of Ministry with Youth, Youth and Family in the Immigrant Church, Evangelism and Discipleship in the Contemporary Adolescent World, and Counselling Adolescents and Their Families. Classes are offered during the day, evening, and weekend, as well as online, supporting both full-time and part-time study. The program includes a supervised internship placement for practical ministry experience. Admission Requirements: Tyndale Seminary's Master of Divinity admission requirements apply: applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution and meet a minimum grade point average of 67%, a 'C+' average, or 2.3 on a 4.0 scale. The Admissions Committee retains discretion, and meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Applicants whose first language is not English, or who have not studied for three years at an English-medium institution, must submit an approved English proficiency test score, such as IELTS Academic 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90, TOEFL PBT 570, or Duolingo English Test 120.
