Overview

The Baccalauréat en finance is a 90-credit cumulative bachelor's degree (Baccalauréat par cumul avec appellation) offered jointly by Université de Montréal and HEC Montréal, leading to a Baccalauréat en gestion (B. Gest.) with a finance specialization. Students assemble the degree from certificate- and minor-level components at both institutions, choosing a corporate finance (finance d'entreprise) or market finance (finance de marché) orientation. Coursework covers business-management fundamentals alongside financial decision-making in investment, financing, and risk management, the structure and workings of the financial system, and the valuation of financial instruments. Many courses are offered in the evening, on weekends, and online, making the program well suited to part-time study alongside work or other commitments. Because the degree is built from separate certificate and minor components rather than delivered as a single cohort program, admission and course sequencing follow the requirements of each component program at Université de Montréal and HEC Montréal individually.
