Overview

This program provides a broad foundation in communication studies, covering media, interpersonal and organizational communication, and the theoretical and analytical tools used to study communication phenomena. The 90-credit curriculum is completed over three years of full-time study and leads to a Bachelier es arts (B.A.). The program is non-contingent, is offered full-time or part-time, and admits students each fall and winter term. Graduates pursue careers in media, public relations, marketing communication, and further graduate study, or continue into more specialized communication concentrations at UQAM.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) or equivalent and demonstrate French proficiency through the uniform French exam required for the DEC or the UQAM written French test. Applicants with a cote de rendement (cote R) below 24 must complete PHI1000 or PHI2028 in their first term. Candidates may also be admitted on an experience basis (two or more years of relevant work experience), by completing five university-level courses, or with studies completed outside Quebec.
