Overview
This 90-credit undergraduate program leads to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in communication, digital media and society, offered full-time or part-time at the Montreal campus with admission in the fall term only and no enrolment cap. The curriculum examines digital media and technologies from communicational, technological, and informational angles, covering content production and distribution, personal data circulation, artificial intelligence, misinformation, and social regulation of media. Coursework is organized into four blocks: ten mandatory courses on communication theory, the history of digital technology, sociopolitical approaches, platform economics, and research methods (30 credits); seven mandatory courses on project management, writing, content production, data and privacy, misinformation, algorithms, and globalization (21 credits); nine elective courses grouped under media, artificial intelligence, and video games themes (27 credits); and four complementary courses drawn from communication, cultural studies, political science, or sociology (12 credits). The program suits students seeking an analytical and critical understanding of digital media's societal impact, preparing them for work in communication strategy, regulatory bodies, or organizational technology roles.
