This Ph.D. program in Mathematics trains scientific researchers and advances knowledge in mathematics through four specialization tracks: combinatorial mathematics, differential geometry and topology, mathematical computing, and statistics. Research and coursework also extend to mathematics education, actuarial science, probability, and the application of mathematical methods to problems in theoretical physics, combinatorial optimization, and algorithmic analysis. The 90-credit program culminates in a doctoral dissertation, and candidates must submit a preliminary thesis research proposal along with their application. Admission is open to holders of a master's degree in mathematics or equivalent, or of a bachelor's degree with the required background knowledge. Full-time study is the only mode of enrolment and takes four years to complete, with courses offered during the day and admission in the Fall or Winter term.
