The Certificate in Employability and Career Development in Indigenous Contexts is a 30-credit UQAT certificate addressing the personal and professional needs of participants by developing knowledge in employability, career development, helping-relationship and counselling skills for job search, and professional ethics in an Indigenous context. A preparatory zero-credit activity, Introduction to Indigenous Studies, must be completed before the end of the first term. The programme is organized over five terms: employability and ethics with career-development theory; helping relationships and counselling for job search I, alongside descriptive psychopathology; helping relationships and counselling for job search II, alongside job-search strategies; the organization of the education system in an Indigenous context alongside group-facilitation techniques; and, in the final term, introductory labour law and financial literacy alongside an integrative employability activity requiring at least six completed courses. Nearly all courses are available at a distance, and a full-time study path is also published separately by the programme.
