This 30-credit certificate from Universite du Quebec en Abitibi-Temiscamingue is designed for health and social-services professionals who want to build the skills needed to manage a health clinic, while deepening their knowledge of health sciences, with a particular focus on occupational health and safety. It suits practitioners already working in clinical or allied-health roles who are moving into, or already hold, management responsibilities within a health clinic setting. Candidates who already hold a college diploma in a related clinical technique, such as nursing, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, or social work, have three optional credits recognized toward the certificate. The program is delivered entirely through distance education, available on both a full-time and a part-time basis, with intakes in the fall, winter, and summer terms.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Standard entry (base collegiale) requires a Quebec DEC or equivalent in one of the following technical programs: orthotics and prosthetics, audioprosthesis, acupuncture, special education, respiratory therapy, nursing, physical rehabilitation, physiotherapy, early childhood education, or social work; holders of such a diploma have three optional credits recognized toward the certificate. UQAT also admits on a university base: candidates aged 21 or over who have completed a minimum of three university-level courses in a related field. Alternatively, under the experience base, candidates aged 21 or over with appropriate knowledge and experience judged relevant may be admitted, assessed by tests, interview, or both, with work experience attested by a letter from the employer.
