This 30-credit graduate diploma (DESS) prepares school administrators, school-board management personnel, and aspiring administrators to lead an educational institution across the domains identified by Quebec's Ministere de l'Education: educational services, the institution's educational environment, human resources, and administration of the institution. Courses are delivered by videoconference and in person, held on Friday evenings and Saturdays in Rouyn-Noranda and on Friday and Saturday mornings in Mont-Laurier. The core curriculum covers integrated school-institution management, legal and regulatory aspects of school administration, pedagogical leadership and supervision, personnel management, human- and financial-resource management, and adaptation of complementary school services, plus nine elective credits chosen from courses on student needs, community engagement, Indigenous-context management, diversity and inclusion, and a practicum, essay, or mentorship. Students who plan to continue into UQAT's Master's in Education (program 3414) may select a designated three-course bridging block. Admission requires an undergraduate degree with a minimum cumulative average of 3.2 on 4.3, or equivalent relevant training and experience, plus at least 15 undergraduate credits in education.
