The Certificate in Human Resources Management is a 30-credit undergraduate certificate offered by UQAT's School of Indigenous Studies, delivered through distance learning. It gives students foundational training in human resources management, covering the functions, activities, and management processes involved in staffing, compensation, labour relations, and occupational health and safety. Mandatory courses address organizational behaviour, human resource management fundamentals, compensation management, recruitment, labour relations in unionized and non-unionized workplaces, human resources training, and health and safety at work. Students complete nine additional optional credits chosen from courses such as management of organizations, organizational change, quality of work life, interpersonal communication, business English, labour law, basic accounting, and the Indigenous social environment. Human resource management is addressed from organizational, behavioural, legal, strategic, and operational perspectives. The certificate can also count toward a bachelor's degree by accumulation of certificates in the business administration sector.
