This 30-credit certificate from Universite du Quebec en Abitibi-Temiscamingue, recognized by the Institut de planification financiere (IPF), trains students working or planning to work in financial services, life insurance, and wealth management, including future financial security advisors, managers, and financial planners. The curriculum develops the technical competencies associated with the seven areas of expertise in personal financial planning defined by the IPF, alongside the cross-cutting and interpersonal skills needed to practice financial planning. Students also gain a broad perspective that supports the development of strategies and recommendations consistent with a client's goals, needs, and priorities. The program is offered at the Rouyn-Noranda campus and through distance education, both on a part-time basis, with intakes in the fall and winter terms.
