This graduate certificate is a 15-credit, second-cycle professional program in specialized youth protection, offered at UQO's Gatineau and St-Jérôme campuses on a part-time basis. It is designed for practitioners already working in youth protection services who want to deepen reflective practice and strengthen theoretical and applied knowledge for intervening with children, youth, and families in both voluntary and non-voluntary protection contexts. Coursework addresses assessment, intervention strategies, and the legal and clinical frameworks that structure youth protection practice in Quebec, with emphasis on critical reflection on professional practice. Graduates are expected to intervene in youth protection settings while maintaining a reflective stance on their practice. Admission is open across the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms, and instruction is delivered on campus in French.
