This 45-credit research-oriented master's program leads to a Maîtrise ès arts in social work. It prepares social work practitioners to combine practice and research from a critical perspective, developing the analytical and methodological skills needed to examine social intervention critically. The program culminates in a research thesis, and admission includes a selection interview in addition to a minimum academic average from a relevant bachelor's degree. The program is offered at UQO's campuses, with admission in the fall, winter, and summer terms, and is intended for social work graduates who wish to pursue advanced research training alongside their practice background. The minimum cumulative average required for admission is 3.2 out of 4.3, unless the applicant already holds a degree from a francophone university.
