This Bachelor of Science in Microbiology focuses on the study of microscopic and molecular life, covering cellular and molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry. Students master core microbiology topics including virology, microorganism structure, culture, ecology, genetics and physiology, with laboratory methods forming a central part of the training. The 90-credit programme runs three years full-time and offers optional research projects in which students take an active role in ongoing laboratory research under faculty supervision. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Quebec applicants need a DEC in Natural Sciences, a DEC in Sciences, Letters and Arts, an International Baccalaureate (Pure and Applied Sciences), or another DEC completed with biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics prerequisites; preparatory courses are available at the university. Applicants from the rest of Canada need a secondary school diploma plus one year of university study with satisfactory science preparation in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. International applicants need a pre-university diploma totalling 13 years, or 12 years plus one year of higher education, with satisfactory science preparation. Non-francophone applicants must demonstrate sufficient French proficiency or pass the Test de français (TCF tout public).
